WGMS School Supply Drive Sunday - August 5, 2012

New Life invited the entire Willow Glen community to help us bless the staff and teachers of Willow Glen Middle School with boxes of supplies for each of the teachers at the school. The goal was to give each teacher a box with basic supplies they can use in their classroom and provide to students in need during the school year.

We also wanted to be sure the New Life Kids were able to help on this day, so each child was invited to color "Thank You Teacher" cards for the boxes.

The result? We had a great time with community members stopping by to drop of supplies and donations to support the local school! We packed up 66 boxes with a great set of supplies and were able to give the school extra supplies for their resource room.

Many thanks to all who participated in blessing this community!

New Life Night at the SJ Giants - July 14, 2012

Despite a rough night for the San Jose team (they lost to  Visalia Rawhide 8-3), the New  Life folks had a great evening out at  Municipal Field! The weather was fantastic and we had great seats just behind the first base line. This was our fourth year taking time out to spend a night at the ballpark as a community. Many thanks to all who came out and brought along friends to share the evening!

Summer Sunday in the Park - July 1, 2012

This week we took church outdoors and gathered for a special Summer Sunday in the Park with Rob and Nancy Reed and family, who shared with us some of the stories of their work with the Covenant in Spain. Many thanks to all who joined us at Wallenberg Park and brought yummy dishes for our potluck brunch!

Dancin' on the Avenue Sailboat Races - June 23, 2012

On June 23, New Life once again participated as a Kids' Court booth sponsor for Willow Glen's annual Dancin' on the Avenue street fair and music festival. This year was much busier than last, despite having 300 grocery prize bags, we ran out less than halfway through the day! Not to worry though, kids and parents still loved the sailboat races, even just for family bragging rights!

The volunteers did a fantastic job of welcoming each visitor to our booth, and talking with them about our upcoming Community Impact Sunday for Willow Glen Middle School! Each of those 300 bags also included an information card inviting the community to help us to bless our school.

Thanks to all who participated for making this a great community outreach event!

New Life Kids' Nativity Presentation - December 11, 2011

The New Life Kids, led by Miss Gina and narrated by Mr. Thomas, gave possibly the cutest Nativity presentation in North America today. With our Kindergarten Mary and Joseph met by the elementary and jr. high shepherds and their toddler sheep, heralded by the preschool and kindergarten angels and presented with gifts from the preschool kings, the story of Jesus' birth was truly seen through the eyes of our children today.

Many thanks to all of the New Life Kids and their grown-up leaders who gave us such a sweet and joyful Nativity!

New Life All-Church Retreat - October 14-16, 2011

"Let Us Exalt His Name, Together!" was an over the top event! We had a fantastic response and all who attended enjoyed a weekend filled with opportunities for connection and community. From the Friday night campfire and S'mores through our final lunch together on Sunday, meaningful conversations happened right along side lots of laughter.

And, how many church retreats have their own theme praise song complete with kid-supplied movements?!

Many thanks to all who helped pull together the details and activities that made this such a special time together as a church family.

If you have any photos you'd ike to add to our album, please send them to the New Life office, we'd love to share them!

New Life Family Sunday - October 2, 2011

Each year, the New Life Kids have an opportunity to take over Sunday service and teach the grownups a lesson from God's Word. This year the kids taught us all about how God created the heavens and earth and everything in them. The best part about having the kids take over is seeing how God speaks through his youngest. We learned about the oceans and land through sand, water and plants in a bucket, and we saw all the creatures of the ocean swimming up the aisles with our little Sprouts and Seedlings.

Many thanks to Miss Gina and all of the New Life Kids volunteers for helping the children prepare this valuable lesson!
